EDITORIAL
STANDARDS

How we work, what we stand for, and how we handle the relationship between editorial independence and commercial reality.

01
Core Principle
Editorial Independence

Anarchobroni.es maintains complete editorial independence from commercial relationships. Advertisers, sponsors, and commercial partners have no influence over the editorial decisions of this publication. No individual or organisation can pay to influence what we cover, how we cover it, or how we present it editorially.

Editorial decisions — what to publish, what angle to take, what conclusions to draw — are made entirely by our editorial team based on journalistic and intellectual merit, not commercial considerations.

"We exist to understand the internet clearly. That requires intellectual honesty — which commercial pressure reliably destroys. We will not let it."

02
Accuracy
Factual Standards

We strive for accuracy in all factual claims. Our analytical essays make interpretive arguments — readers should understand the difference between factual reporting and editorial analysis, and we aim to make that distinction clear in our work.

  • Empirical claims are supported by cited sources or linked references where possible
  • When we draw on academic research, we link to or describe the source
  • We acknowledge uncertainty — we will say "evidence suggests" rather than overstate certainty
  • Anonymous or unnamed sources are used rarely and with editorial justification
  • We distinguish between documented facts and our editorial interpretations

If you believe we have published an inaccuracy, please contact [email protected]. We investigate all factual challenges and publish corrections prominently.

03
Corrections Policy
Corrections & Updates

We correct errors promptly. When a factual error is confirmed, we:

  • Update the article with the correct information
  • Add a visible correction note at the top or bottom of the article explaining what was changed and when
  • Do not silently alter articles — any substantive change is disclosed
  • Issue a correction notice within five business days of a confirmed error being identified

Opinion, analysis, and editorial framing are not subject to correction in the same way — but we welcome challenge and debate. Essays represent the views of their authors, not necessarily the editorial team as a whole.

04
Commercial Transparency
Sponsored Content & Advertising

We accept advertising and may occasionally publish sponsored content. Our commercial relationships are governed by the following rules:

  • All sponsored content is clearly and prominently labeled "Sponsored" or "Paid Partnership" at the top of the post
  • Sponsored content is written by our editorial team to our standards — advertisers cannot supply or dictate copy
  • We do not accept sponsored content from organisations whose values conflict with our editorial mission
  • Display advertising is separated from editorial content and does not influence our coverage
  • We do not publish native advertising that is designed to be indistinguishable from editorial content
  • Affiliate relationships, where they exist, are disclosed with an "affiliate link" label

05
Contributors
Writer Guidelines & Attribution

All published essays carry the byline of the person who wrote them. We do not publish ghostwritten content without the subject's consent and disclosure.

  • Contributor essays represent the views of the individual author
  • Authors are identified with a brief bio; we do not conceal author identity
  • We do not accept pitches from public relations professionals writing on behalf of undisclosed clients
  • Contributors disclose relevant conflicts of interest in their author bios or in the article itself
  • We pay all contributors; rates are agreed before commissioning
06
Ethics
Harm Avoidance & Sensitive Coverage

Internet culture frequently intersects with sensitive topics: mental health, extremism, harassment, addiction, and more. We approach these areas with care:

  • We do not amplify extremist content or individuals for the sake of engagement
  • We handle harassment-related reporting with awareness of the risks of re-victimisation
  • We follow best practices for coverage of mental health issues, including appropriate framing and resource links
  • We do not use distressing imagery without content warnings
  • We do not publish personal information about private individuals without consent

We believe that serious internet culture journalism can engage with darkness without amplifying or exploiting it.

07
Independence
Ownership & Funding

Anarchobroni.es is an independently owned publication. We are not owned by or affiliated with any media conglomerate, technology company, or political organisation.

Our revenue comes from display advertising, occasional sponsored content (disclosed per the policy above), and reader subscriptions. We do not accept investment or funding from organisations that would require or expect editorial influence in return.

We are committed to transparency about our funding model. If significant changes to our ownership or funding occur, we will disclose them to readers.
